Coyote is not the most...trustworthy person (or deity for that matter) that you've met in your travels. Despite the fact that he has never outright lied to you, you still have a sense of unease that the truth is being twisted. Or he's not telling you the bulk of it. What were you expecting from a trickster god anyway? Still, you pay him the respect he deserves for his few redeemable qualities, and hope you can learn more from him in the future. Even if he is a stubborn, arrogant, tricky asshole most of the time.
